OUR PHILOSOPHY

Bio-Horticentre Méristème is a garden centre entirely dedicated to organic gardening. It was founded in 2002 by Jean-Pierre Martel, a professional horticulturalist boasting 20 years of experience. Mr. Martel has taught horticulture to students in several colleges. He also gives lectures and has a gardening advice show every Saturday morning during the growing season on a local French CBC radio show.

Given people’s ever-increasing interest in horticulture, gardening and landscaping and its impact on the environment, this unique garden centre has chosen to offer you only organic gardening solutions with a vast array of fertilizing and pest-control products. You will find no synthetic or chemical pesticides and will be offered only growing, caring and treating methods fostering environmentally-responsible choices and actions.

With this philosophy in mind the Méristème’s team of experts will advise you in choosing products and plants best suited to your needs. Given the abundance and diversity of rustic, native and organically-certified plants that you will find, it will be easy to identify the plants and products that you need. The team is especially proud of offering  you plants that are always at their very best. You will find a great variety of unique trees, shrubs and perennials from spring until the end of the gardening season. Bio-Horticentre Méristème is in fact the only garden centre in the Outaouais region to offer you plants in a wide variety and large quantities right up until the first snow!
